FESTIVAL of LIGHT

The Festival of Light Fundraiser was a brilliant success !

Proceeds from the event funds Art & Music Lessons for Children
The Festival of Light event this year was a demonstration of the old adage, “It takes a village!”  The village showed up in numbers and with great enthusiasm to support Art, Dance and Music Lessons for Trinity children!

This year COVID conditions pre-empted our staging the Festival in the Veterans' Hall.  So Pam and Elizabeth reached out to our community for support to recreate the event as a three day event, which provided the activities that have traditionally raised funds during the festival.  Ten artists agreed to set up as vendors in EarthDance Gallery.  Jai of U-Rok Bakery set up her booth each of the three days to provide fresh breads, cakes, cookies, and bagels.  Artists and stores donated gifts to the Dutch Auction. Four local eateries agreed to serve a Festival of Light soup each of the three days of the event with a percent of sales feeding the Scholarship Fund. The Trinity Congregational Church is having a pre-paid pie sale and donating a quarter of their proceeds to the fund.

The Arts Council appreciates the wonderful generosity of all who contributed to this event to benefit the children of Trinity County.  The event was a great success and raised over $2,400 for arts, dance and music lessons.  The Council also thanks all the fine people who came out to enjoy the event, purchased gifts from the vendors, bought up the baked goods, spent their money on Dutch Auction tickets and went out and enjoyed sampling the soups and supporting the businesses who provided them.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Arts Council can invite parents to explore the Festival of Light Scholarship Fund.  It certainly does take a village, and this village rocks!!
