SUPER-SATURDAY of FAMILY FUN !
SUPER-SATURDAY of FAMILY FUN !
September 7 was a rollicking FUN day !
The sun backed off from the 100 degree broiling heat to an almost pleasant 94F.
(Yes, lately, the weather seems to get top billing !)
Artists in Action "Light" was a test of the waters as we chose to enliven the sidewalks just 5 weeks prior to the Art Walk and Artists in Action event. 18 artists joined us on the sidewalks including 3 artists who are also business owners in the Historic District of Weaverville. We enjoyed the light rock from Dave and Sue Hazard from the UpNorth Confectionary & Merchantile deck, followed by our headliner of Rainy Day Picnic.
The Arts Council unveiled a new Tshirt Design while John Garrett of STudio G invited kids and their wary parents to sink their hands in clay and "Make Something !"
We were honored to have a robust line-up of artists who selflessly shared their trade secrets and invited others to "give it a try."
List of Participating Artists:
Pam Yearout - Earthdance Jewelry John Garrett - Studio G Ceramics
Hanna Heinrici - Creative Prints (business) Juanita Gonzalez - Stained Glass
Jean Lam - Gold Rush Jeweler (business) Amy McCombs - Lewiston Stamps (business)
Mickey Coogan - Quilter Max Naegel - Guitarist
