1st Saturday of every month, the Arts Council hosts an Art Walk in historic Weaverville that includes from many venues along Main Street. Our fine art galleries hold their artist’s receptions from 5-8 p.m. providing an opportunity to engage with the artist. Live music often accompanies the one mile stroll. Pop-up artists demonstrating their crafts and vendors add to the experience. Follow the Art Flags for festive family fun !

"Painting Out" Events at Main Street Gallery

Main Street Gallery is hosting watercolor artist Paul Rickard for two days of Painting Out in the landscape on Friday, August 21st and Saturday August 22nd .
These events are for any artists who like to paint outside. We will provide some snacks and beverages. Both events begin at 9:00 AM with a flexible end time. Paul will demonstrate his work on August 21st.

Paul Rickard is a renowned watercolor artist and teacher who resides in Eureka, California. Paul says, “I paint every day and learn as I go. The creation of art is a craft and comes from hard and diligent practice, direct observation, and study. I am driven to express the wonder of both the mundane and magnificent.”
Paul and his wife Nancy, a gifted pastel artist, will both be showing at Main Street in September and October.

Artists in Action Festival with 30-40 Artists Demonstrating their Crafts & Live Music
The sidewalks in Historic Downtown Weaverville will come alive with visual and performance art on Saturday, September 12th from 11 AM to 3 PM. Thirty to forty artists will demonstrate glass work, painting, ceramics, batik, wood carving, metal work, repurposing junk into treasure, and more! The band "Hooda Thunkitt" will set the tempo playing blues and rock on the UpNorth Deck from 12 - 3 pm with "Stormy Weather" playing sultry tunes at the Highland Art Center. Kids' activities will occur in multiple locations, including a Graffiti Wall at the "Deck". The County-wide Yard Sale is the same Saturday, so the town will be buzzing with activity. Bring the family and experience the ARTS !

Always a fun event with the Dutch Auction, Hot Lunch including 2 soups and a Meat Chili with cornbread, cookie and water or coffee, and Shopping; You can feel generous and kind knowing that the proceeds of the event support FREE Art, Music, Dance lessons for Trinity County children. Trinity Heritage Days: A Cultural Celebration in Historic Downtown Weaverville, CA
The Nor-Rel-Muk Wintu Nation, J. Jackson Museum and Historical Society, Joss House State Park, the Hmong, and Trinity County Arts Council proudly invite all to join in the festivities of Trinity Heritage Days on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Historic Downtown Weaverville, CA. This day-long celebration promises a rich tapestry of cultural experiences, honoring the land, peoples, and stories of our cherished place.
The festivities commence with an Opening Ceremony hosted by the Nor-Rel-Muk Wintu Nation at 11a.m. in the scenic surroundings of the Highland Art Center Meadow, located at 691 Main Street. Following the ceremony, participants are invited to partake in free walk-in traditional arts workshops for all ages until 4 p.m.
Throughout the day, the Joss House State Park will host free tours of the Taost Temple and invite folks to enjoy Chinese crafts. The Hmong will be sharing their culture and inviting visitors to embroider a coaster. The Jake Jackson Museum will invite visitors to explore the miner's cabin, the museum, and watch black smiths turn metal into art. Historic Main Street Merchants’ District will come alive with an array of activities.

Workshops, Events, and Other Happenings
Live Performances can be enjoyed all over Trinity: The Lewiston Hotel, Trinity County Brewing Co., Tangle Blue Saloon, Northern Delights Coffee Shop book quality bands from the North State as well as snagging performances from musicians traveling from a gig in Washington heading to Los Angeles. Trinity's Farmers' Markets in Weaverville on Wednesday and Hayfork on Friday jam the tunes while selling fresh produce, baked goods, and high-end crafts. Enjoy a brew and discover emerging talents at Open Mic - weekly at the Brewery, and Northern Delights, monthly at Tangle Blue. Keep your eyes peeled for the schedule at the plush Trinity Alps Performing Arts Center.

ART WORKSHOPS - Adults and Kids
Whether you want to deepen your knowledge and skills in your craft or enjoy a workshop to mosaic rocks, marbel fabric, explore the cement art of hypertufa, or join a group for a Wine-Y Painter classs; we are your resource to discover classes and workshops in Trinity, Shasta, Siskiyou and Humboldt Counties. Many workshops are taught by professional artists who are experienced teachers and will advance your skills whether you are a budding artist or experienced. TCAC receives and forwards E-blasts from Shasta County Arts Council, North Valley Arts League, Studio 299, Tehama Arts Council and workshops offered by artists and resorts such as the Strawhouse Resorts. Music lessons in a variety of instruments, painting and sculpting are provided by private music and art teachers, year-round. Taylor and Danyel Aglipay are pictured at the Festival of Light Crafts Fair recital featuring their music students. John Garrett, former art instructor for Lewiston Elementary School, provides private pay classes for kids at his Studio G in Weaverville, behind the Highland Art Center. The Trinity County Arts Council offers scholarships to Studio G with the Festival Of Light Scholarship Program. Applications available.
