Saturday, June 3, 2017, many of the most talented ceramic artists will dazzle spectators at the 1st Annual Trinity County Art in the Alps; Celebrating the Ceramic Arts.    Join in the activities from 10:30 – 8pm along Main Street in Historic Weaverville, just 45 minutes east of Redding.



We invite artists, instructors, students, ceramic enthusiasts and anyone interested in discovering the wonders, of the ceramic arts.  Free Admission.


The morning begins with coffee and donuts at the Trinity Movie Theater where Sacramento’s Yoshio Taylor will discuss how to produce a 3-story carved ceramic tile mural, hand building figures and more. 


Afterward, join us under the big tent at the Highland Art Center Meadow to watch esteemed artists Keith Schneider of Humboldt State University and Yoshio Taylor of Cosumnes River College demonstrate a variety of ceramic techniques.


Throughout the day, the meadow will come alive with ceramic activities for children and adults. 

  • Experience building Sculpey Critters
  • Try your hand at throwing a pot on the wheel. 
  • Get fired-up and glaze a commemorative vessel, then participate in Raku firing. 


The meadow will be surrounded by venders selling ceramic art and supplies.


Art Walk, from 5 pm to 8 pm, will have Live Music and art openings with refreshments at 11 venues, many featuring Ceramic Art.
